Isaac Moreno
As a concert guitarist, he has performed in various places: flamenco clubs such as the “Tertulia Flamenca Tomás El Nitri” in El Puerto de Santa María, “Peña Flamenca de Córdoba”, “Peña El Taranto” in Almería… Important events such as concerts in the Plaza de la Asunción in Jerez as part of “Las Noches de Verano”, Plaza del Arenal in Jerez de la Frontera as part of the “Fiesta de la Vendimia”, Plaza de la Merced in Malaga as part of its cycle of shows dedicated to its fair… Great Festivals such as the Festival de Caja Madrid in Madrid, performing in “La Casa Encendida”, the Festival Flamenco de Almería or the Festival de Cante Jondo de Casariche (Sevilla) among others… a special mention deserves the concert offered as a “Tribute to the flamenco guitar” at the national meeting organised by the Congreso de Ateneístas, where Paco de Lucía, Manolo Sanlúcar and Paco Cepero received their respective honorary decorations as bastions of this genre.
He has also participated in recordings and DVDs with the Seville Provincial Federation of Flamenco Entities, in the record collection “Así canta nuestra tierra en Navidad”, with La Macanita, together with artists of the stature of Paco Cepero, Diego del Morao and Manuel Parrilla in the recording of Pepe Marín’s CD published by “Flamenco y Universidad” entitled “Memoria Jonda” and with Sabor Jerez, the group he currently leads together with his father.
He has extensive teaching experience in guitar classes, accompaniment to singing and dancing, as well as in general musical education, giving master classes and specialised classes, lectures, courses, conferences, didactic concerts, etc. in different places in the province of Cádiz such as El Puerto de Santa María de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María de la Frontera and El Puerto de Santa María de la Frontera. María, Chiclana, Jerez de la Frontera, Guadalcacín…; different parts of Andalusia such as Almería, Granada or Málaga; or different regions of Spain such as Cataluña, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha or Extremadura… He currently directs, together with Davinia Ballesteros, the Fernando Moreno Guitar School in Jerez de la Frontera.
Isaac Moreno, like so many other artists from Jerez, was initiated into the flamenco scene through family influence, mainly on the guitar. In love with her, he began his career as a guitarist at a very young age alongside his father, the great guitarist Fernando Moreno.
Among other merits, he holds a professional music degree from the “Joaquín Villatoro” professional conservatory in Jerez de la Frontera, and a degree in music from the “Rafael Orozco” conservatory in Cordoba, specialising in flamenco guitar.
He has taken part in numerous performances in festivals, peñas, theatres and television programmes. Here is a brief overview: festivals such as Puente Genil, Festival Internacional de Danza de La Habana in Cuba, Vejer, Marchena, Fiesta de la Bulería de Jerez, Lantejuela, Zamora, Ronda, Festival Internacional de la Música de Jimena de la Frontera, Jardines de Sabatini de Madrid, Bienal de flamenco de Sevilla…; numerous peñas of which we would like to highlight: La Siguiriya de Valladolid, El Pozo de las Penas de Los Palacios, Juan Talega de Dos Hermanas, Peña Flamenca de Cerdanyola, Torre Macarena de Sevilla, Juan Breva de Málaga, etc.; theatres of the stature of the Central de Sevilla, Lope de Vega de Sevilla and Madrid, Cervantes de Alcalá de Henares, Teatro de Valverde del Camino, Lara de Madrid, Falla de Cádiz, Villamarta de Jerez de la Frontera. …, and in other international venues such as Warsaw (Poland), Biarritz (France), Havana (Cuba), Lisbon (Portugal), Liechtenstein (international guitar festival), Geneva (Switzerland), Antwerp (Belgium), Monaco (Principality of Monaco)…
He has participated in television programmes such as La Venta del Duende, Foro Flamenco de Manuel Curao, “noche buena” and “noche vieja” programmes, Cántame de María del Monte, Andalucía Directo, Generaciones, “El sol, la sal y el son” by Jesús Quintero (all of them on Canal Sur), flamenco programmes on T.V.E., “Tal cual lo contamos” on Antena 3, “entrada de año” on Telecinco…
His long career and extensive professional experience can be seen in the many different national and international publications in which he appears. As an accompanying guitarist he has been requested by artists such as Rancapino, Mariana Cornejo, Luis El Zambo, Fernando de la Morena, Compañía de Baile Antonio El Pipa, Fernando Terremoto hijo, Juan Moneo “El Torta”, Nano de Jerez, José Gálvez, El Lebrijano, Ana Reverte, José Vargas El Mono, José Méndez, Melchora Ortega, Capullo de Jerez, Chano Lobato, La Macanita, Pilar Astola, Esperanza Fernández, David Palomar, etc….
