Isaac Moreno
Isaac Moreno, like many other Jerez artists, began his journey into the flamenco scene through family influence, primarily in guitar. Passionate about the instrument, he started his career as a guitarist alongside his father, the renowned guitarist Fernando Moreno.
Among other achievements, he holds the Professional Music degree obtained from the “Joaquín Villatoro” Conservatory in Jerez de la Frontera and a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the “Rafael Orozco” Conservatory in Córdoba, specializing in Flamenco Guitar.
He has participated in numerous performances at festivals, flamenco clubs, theaters, and television programs. Here are a few highlights: festivals such as Puente Genil, the International Dance Festival of Havana in Cuba, Vejer, Marchena, the Bulería Festival of Jerez, Lantejuela, Zamora, Ronda, the International Music Festival of Jimena de la Frontera, the Jardines de Sabatini in Madrid, and the Bienal de Flamenco in Sevilla; numerous flamenco clubs, including La Siguiriya in Valladolid, El Pozo de las Penas in Los Palacios, Juan Talega in Dos Hermanas, Peña Flamenca de Cerdanyola, Torre Macarena in Sevilla, Juan Breva in Málaga, etc.; prestigious theaters such as the Central in Sevilla, Lope de Vega in Sevilla and Madrid, Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares, Teatro de Valverde del Camino, Lara in Madrid, Falla in Cádiz, Villamarta in Jerez de la Frontera; and internationally in locations like Warsaw (Poland), Biarritz (France), Havana (Cuba), Lisbon (Portugal), Liechtenstein (International Guitar Festival), Geneva (Switzerland), Antwerp (Belgium), and Monaco (Principality of Monaco).
He has appeared on television programs such as La Venta del Duende, Foro Flamenco with Manuel Curao, Christmas and New Year specials, Cántame with María del Monte, Andalucía Directo, Generaciones, and El sol, la sal y el son with Jesús Quintero (all on Canal Sur), flamenco programs on T.V.E., Tal cual lo contamos on Antena 3, and the New Year’s program on Telecinco.
His extensive career and broad professional experience are reflected in the numerous national and international publications featuring him. As a supporting guitarist, he has collaborated with artists of great stature such as Rancapino, Mariana Cornejo, Luis El Zambo, Fernando de la Morena, Antonio El Pipa Dance Company, Fernando Terremoto Jr., Juan Moneo “El Torta,” Nano de Jerez, José Gálvez, El Lebrijano, Ana Reverte, José Vargas El Mono, José Méndez, Melchora Ortega, Capullo de Jerez, Chano Lobato, La Macanita, Pilar Astola, Esperanza Fernández, David Palomar, and many others.
In his role as a concert guitarist, Isaac Moreno has performed in various venues: flamenco clubs such as “Tertulia Flamenca Tomás El Nitri” in El Puerto de Santa María, “Peña Flamenca de Córdoba,” “Peña El Taranto” in Almería, and significant events like concerts in the Plaza de la Asunción in Jerez as part of “Las Noches de Verano,” the Plaza del Arenal in Jerez de la Frontera during the “Fiesta de la Vendimia,” and the Plaza de la Merced in Málaga within its festival cycle. He has also participated in major festivals such as the Caja Madrid Festival in Madrid, performing at “La Casa Encendida,” the Flamenco Festival of Almería, and the Cante Jondo Festival in Casariche (Sevilla), among others. Notably, he performed in a concert titled “Tribute to Flamenco Guitar” at the national meeting organized by the Congress of Ateneístas, where Paco de Lucía, Manolo Sanlúcar, and Paco Cepero received their respective honorary awards as pillars of this genre.
He has also contributed to recordings and DVDs with the Provincial Federation of Flamenco Entities in Seville, in the discographic collection “Así canta nuestra tierra en Navidad,” with La Macanita, and alongside prominent artists like Paco Cepero, Diego del Morao, and Manuel Parrilla in the CD recording of Pepe Marín published by “Flamenco y Universidad” titled “Memoria Jonda,” as well as with Sabor Jerez, a group he currently directs with his father.
He possesses extensive teaching experience, whether in guitar classes, accompaniment for singing and dancing, or in general music education, conducting master classes, specialized lessons, seminars, courses, conferences, and educational concerts in various locations across the province of Cádiz, such as El Puerto de Santa María, Chiclana, Jerez de la Frontera, and Guadalcacín; diverse points in Andalucía like Almería, Granada, or Málaga; and different regions of the national territory such as Catalonia, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, or Extremadura. Currently, he co-directs the Escuela de Guitarra Fernando Moreno in Jerez de la Frontera with Davinia Ballesteros.
